Aqueduct will be performing on Conan O’brien tomorrow night (Friday, February 25). If you don’t already know, Andrew Rudd is their new drummer and he’s not only from Fayetteville, but he was also the drummer in an old band of mine. Ch ch check it out.

OK, this is a toughy. On one hand, we got a mongolian grill. On the other hand, it is also a Chinese buffet and a sushi bar. And by Chinese buffet, I mean the kind that has pepperoni pizza and mac-n-cheese. And by sushi bar, I mean the kind that has fake meat and sits under a lamp until someone finally picks it up and takes it back to their table to try and eat it. And unfortunately, by mongolian grill, I mean the kind that only has beef, chicken and a few vegetables and absolutely nobody is in line for it because they don’t know what it is, therefore, the guy working the grill just stands there and talks to his friend until he finally looks over and gives you a “Holy crap! I’ve got a customer!” kind of look. All in all, it’s a pretty janked out place to eat but with $5.99 lunches and $7.99 dinners, on top of the fruit and dessert line (soft-serve ice cream machine included), I’m still giving it a thumbs-up.

Interpol “The New”
Good grief, I have never had so much fun in my life. Our trip had originally been scheduled for Park City, Utah, but that got postponed until next year so we ended up going back to Colorado. We were about 15 minutes away from the city we stayed in last year but instead of snowboarding at Breckenridge, we bought tickets for Copper Mountain. I’d never been there before so I had no idea what to expect. Plus, I am not a serious snowboarder either so one place is as good as the next as far as I was concerned. Until now. Usually, when we go, there’s always someone that asks us, “So why are you guys spending all five days at the same resort?” Last year, my answer was, “I don’t know, where else should we go?” But this year’s response was, “Because there are more tree runs at Copper Mountain that we could do in a month.” Also, it snowed between 14″ and 17″ on the third day which made for the absolute best day of snowboarding I’ve ever had. We were so spoiled by the powder and lack of a crowd on Thursday that when we got there the next day and found hundreds of people on the mountain, we said to hell with it and left early. To top it all off, I got to hang out with two of the best guys I’ll ever know for an entire week. Check out the photos from the trip by clicking here. Thanks to Colorado, thanks to Copper Mountain and thanks to Seth and Trip for helping make this year’s vacation a total blast.
PS-Just kidding Seth and Trip, you guys are assholes.

We made it to Colorado on Saturday night and started snowboarding the next morning. Ah, screw it. You can read about it over on Seth’s site.

Pavement “Colorado”
When my amp broke down last year while touring with Lucero, I didn’t have much time to shop for a new one so I was really suprised to find out that Roy Orbison’s soundguy was selling Roy’s last Fender Twin Reverb which is exactly the type of amp that had just died on me. The price was resonable so I bought it. Every once and a while, it decides to blow fuses. Sometimes it will blow 5 or 6 in a row before it works properly. I’ve had three different people try to fix it and they each, of course, have their own idea as to what’s wrong with it. But it continues to give me trouble. Now I am stuck with the decision of either keeping it and buying something more reliable or trading/selling it. I am sure there is someone who would be thrilled to have this amp despite it’s bad temper but I am torn because it’s pretty damn cool having Roy Orbison’s amp in my spare bedroom. Any advice?
