If you are in the Little Rock, Arkansas area this evening and are looking for something to do, head over to Juanita’s where we will be opening for American Princes.
It is a CD release party for their latest album “Less And Less” on Yep Roc Records and just from listening to the few tracks on their MySpace site, it’s obviously gonna be a great one.

OK ya’ll. I am about to tell you about a show that most of you will not take my advice on and will instead sit at home after watching “Lost” and play around on the internet, eat some ice cream, maybe watch a re-run of Roseanne and then go to bed. Unfortunately for you, in a few months or maybe even a year (or two) you will hear a few songs by this band and think “Man, I really, really should’ve gone to see them when they were in Fayetteville instead of eating that ice cream and falling asleep watching Roseanne.”
Southern Bitch. Tonight (3-29-06). George’s Majestic Lounge. Fayetteville. Not kidding.
UPDATE: I WAS WRONG AND I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I JUST SAID. ASK ME ABOUT IT LATER.

Bryan found some Good Fear/White Whale photos on Flickr today. Check them out here. I’m not sure who took the photos so I can’t give credit where it’s due but I thought I’d post the link for your enjoyment (or total disappointment). I’ve never noticed how short Zach makes me look until seeing these pictures.
The show was at Georges Majestic Lounge a week or two ago and it was awesome…partly because we got to play with White Whale and partly because there was a greek toga party going on in the back room and White Whale was rocking it so hard that every few minutes, some drunk frat dude would come wandering in wearing a toga and stay for the entirety of the set. A pretty exciting Tuesday night if you ask me…

…was incredible. I’d been looking forward to the show but not with as much anticipation as I would have if I’d known how awesome the show was going to be. I had a weird feeling about seeing a band that I like so much in the Walton Arts Center. Partly because I’ve never seen a band in there before but mostly because I didn’t want Wilco to think Fayetteville was lame.
Thankfully, even though the Walton Arts Center is a sit-down venue, everyone stood up anyway and made tons of noise. I think Wilco was pretty surprised. Jeff Tweedy admitted to poking fun at Arkansas the night before while playing in Nashville (something that I’d already heard about via Sarah’s mother) but said he felt so guilty because Fayetteville was such a great city so he had to come clean. That was pretty cool.
The sound was excellent, we had great seats and they played every song I wanted to hear and then about a dozen more including a double encore. It was a very welcome relief after watching the Hogs get stomped by freaking Bucknell. Ugghh…

Photo stolen from wilcoworld.net. Don’t be mad.

First of all, I’d like to thank Eric and Laura for throwing us one hell of an engagement party. That’s one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us. You guys rule.
Also, huge props to Michelle, Sage and everyone else who brought/cooked food. The food was so good and plentiful that I am absolutely positive I gained a few extra pounds that night (aside from the beer pounds I most certainly racked up as well). Speaking of the food, I would like someone to please tell me who brought the macaroni sandwiches because they were certainly the highlight of my night.
The music was sweet, the dancing was sweet, the moustaches/rings were sweet, the company was sweet and of course my lady was looking mighty sweet as well. Hell, we even managed to attract the local police department THREE different times.
Finally, thanks to everyone who showed up from near and from as far away as Memphis and Kansas City. If you wanna see some photos, head on over to Sarah’s site.

It’s time once again for the Northwest Arkansas Music Awards (NAMA) and as always, lots of great local bands are nominated along with lots of terrible ones as well. As I’ve said before, it’s very rare that any of the good bands actually win the awards. If you get a chance, head on over to the NAMA voting page and enter your votes for the year’s best bands. You don’t have to vote in all the categories and if you are in a hurry you could just vote for the band I am playing with which is called The Good Fear. Thanks, ya’ll.

The reason I haven’t updated in so long is because I have been getting my ass kicked at work. But not my normal interactive design work. I’ve been helping pick out, order, design and even set up our new office.
For those of you in the Fayetteville area, you might have noticed a big glass building next door to the Inn at the Mill in Johnson while driving down I-540. We’re on the third floor and it’s seriously awesome.
We chose Herman Miller Resolve for the furniture and we couldn’t be happier with how it has turned out. Words can’t really describe it so I’ll let these pictures do the talking.
UPDATE: More picture here.
