We recently went on our annual Fall camping trip to Longpool. Unlike last year, we didn’t find any sweet parties out there but we did carry on the tradition of “shot night” where everyone brings a shot in hopes of winning the Shot Crown for the season. That’s probably all I should say about that.
Other highlights include another trip to Ed’s Flags-n-Stuff, a nice hike and the conception of “freaky river natives” (don’t ask).
Dustin got a couple of tickets to the Arkansas vs. Ole Miss game on Saturday and invited me along. Thing is, though, they weren’t just ordinary tickets. They were sky box suite tickets from one of our vendors at work. Nice!
Speaking of the Hogs, they are now 6-1 which makes them eligible for a bowl game for the first time since 2003. I usually can’t wait for Razorback basketball to start but the football Hogs are doing so well, I’m actually enjoying this season a lot. Of course, that might have something to do with my newfound interest in the sport.
The idea for this post was taken from Seth (via werlew.com).

Crappy HP PC for testing, Kleenex, PowerBook G4, 20″ Apple Cinema display, trail map of The Canyons (getting ready for snowboarding ‘07), Lacie Porsche drive, Maxtor drive, 5G iPod, Mighty Mouse, headphones, genuine Herman Miller Aeron chair, trophy with an old-school van on it (don’t ask), marshmallow cheeseburger (in package), Buddha Outlet Awards trophies, couple of plants, nice lighting.
I spend at least 40 hours a week so I’m glad it’s as cool as it is. Our office is brand new and so is all of our furniture. As a matter of fact, I got to help design the place so I’m pretty proud of it, I suppose.
What does your desk look like?
OK check it out. I’ve been watching a ton of TV lately. Seriously, I haven’t watched this much TV since I was a kid and The Cosby Show, Roseanne and America’s Funniest Home Videos were in their prime.
This time last year, I was super pumped about my Netflix account. I even upgraded my account from 3 movies at a time to 5. I was watching all sorts of movies that I’d missed in the theater as well as discovering a crapload of great documentaries that I’d never heard of. Since then, however, things have changed quite a bit and now I’m down to 2 movies at a time and I even caught myself sending a couple back last week that I hadn’t even watched. Wtf?
Now that I’m caught up on Deadwood, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm, I can’t seem to find much that interests me on Netflix anymore. And looking at my queue, I’m not really all that pumped about what’s coming up soon.
So what shows have I been watching lately that have drastically increased my time in front of the tube? Let see, on Mondays, it’s Monday Night Football and Studio 60.On Wednesday, there’s 30 Rock, Lost and Inside the NFL. Thursdays have The Office, Six Degrees, The Fantasy Show and the occasional episode of My Name Is Earl. Add all of those to the normal SportsCenter-in-the-morning, Conan/Daily Show-at-night and random channel surfing I already did and that’s one hell of a load. Phew.
So now I have to ask myself whether or not to keep Netflix. Especially since I could save a few bucks by dropping it and adding Showtime which would give me access to Weeds and Dexter.
What do you guys think? I’d better decide quick, though, because I obviously don’t already have enough shows to watch…right?
I forgot to mention that The Paper Hearts are playing tonight at the Dickson Theater in Fayetteville with Drag The River.
I don’t know when we’re going on but it’s probably gonna be late. I don’t care though, because I’m off all damn day tomorrow. But not because of tonight’s show. It’s because I’m going damn camping. CAMPING! YEEOW!
Yesterday, Sarah kept repeating “I am 25 years old” every 15 minutes or so. After about a dozen times, I finally asked her why she kept saying that. She promtly replied, “Because I’ll never be able to say it again.”
True. Very true. Happy 26th Birthday, Sarah.
Unfortunately, in less than 3 months, I won’t even be able to say I am in my twenties anymore…
Citiscapes Magazine will soon be publishing their annual Best of Northwest Arkansas awards and there is a new category this year: Best Gourmet Dessert.
It just so happens that I know the owner of the best gourmet desserts company in Northwest Arkansas. What luck! If you aren’t familiar with Darling Desserts, then just take my word on it and head over to BestofNWAR.com to cast your vote. While you’re there, you can also vote for the seemingly hundreds of other categories but it’s not necessary to vote for all of ‘em.
I recently designed the Darling Desserts logo so if for no other reason just vote because you like me.
Ya’ll do like me, right?
A friend of mine sent me a link yesterday to one the coolest things I’ve seen on the web in a long time. It’s called Line Rider and before you click on the link, you need to understand something: It is addictive as hell. Consider yourself warned.
Anyway, after you mess around with it for a bit, head over to YouTube and watch this video to see the possibilities. Or if you wanna see mine then check out Crasyrider 1 and Crasyrider 2.
