Skate Party!

sarahskate.jpgThere are a ton of December birthdays in our group of friends. To celebrate them all, Sarah and Laura rented out a roller rink in Sprindgale and we had the place all to ourselves. Somehow it turned into not only a skating party but also a costume party. Some of the costumes were hot (the girls) and some of them were gross as hell (the guys).

I’m not sure exactly what the staff of teenagers thought of us because they didn’t laugh but they didn’t exactly seem freaked out either. What does that say about the regulars at Roller City?

Wanna see some photos? Cool. Here they are. Enjoy.

Guitar Heroes

gh2.jpgI have three words for you concerning the game Guitar Hero: Get it now.

A couple of weeks ago at a Christmas party with some friends, somebody broke out two plastic guitars and a Playstation 2. What followed was easily one of the most fun nights of 2006. Here are some photos but they do no justice at all.

You get to rock out to some of the sweetest tunes ever such as War Pigs, Sweet Child O’ Mine and Shout at the Devil. You don’t have to know a thing about guitar but you do gotta know how to rock (who doesn’t?). If you haven’t played, then you haven’t lived. Truth.

Butts Lose in Final Round

Fantasy Football, Sports No Comments »

butts2nd.jpgOn one hand, I gotta be happy that my fantasy football team got 2nd place because a) I won $150, b) it was my first time to ever play and c) 2nd out of 10 ain’t bad. But on the other hand, I can’t help but be a little ticked since I was in first place the ENTIRE SEASON until the last game. In other words, I kicked everybody’s ass for 15 straight weeks until the final championship game in which I lost to the 2nd place team. The first place prize was $300, by the way. Oh well.

When some dudes at work first asked me to join their league a few months ago, I was super hesitant since I’d never even watched an entire NFL football game. After the very first week, though, I was hooked. I can’t wait for that crap to start back up next season.

Have any of you ever played?

Thank you, Christmas bonus.

aquos.jpgIt’s that time of year again when I get a little cash and go out to buy something sweet as a reward for working real (too) hard for 12 months straight. This year, however, my lady is helping with the cost since this was a big purchase and is really for both of us (unlike last year’s).

So what did we go and buy? A new TV! A 42″ Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV to be exact. Not bad. I had the HD channels turned on today and they look saweet. Too bad there aren’t more HD channels out there.

Any of you guys got HDTVs yet? What service do you use? You love it?

Good Fear show tonight!

tgf.jpgHey, if you live near Fayetteville and are wondering what to do this evening, come out to the Dickson Theater and watch us play a show at 9pm.

It’s supposed to be cold as hell tonight but don’t let that stop you from hearing 4 new songs. That’s right, four. New songs.

We’re playing with Ian Moore and it’s gonna be $8, I think. Ian is playing first which means we’re the last band.

I know most of you probably rocked out to Dr. Dog last night at George’s so if you’re too tired then that’s cool…be a wuss.

See you there?

This is what 6-10 inches of snow looks like.

Fayetteville/NWA, Snow 6 Comments »

If you know me, you know how ticked I get when the weatherman is wrong (always). Especially when the prediction is for snow.

Growing up in Fayetteville will really spoil the whole snow thing for you (at least it did for me) because the weathermen around here are always predicting these huge amounts of snow that never accumulate to much of anything.

Every year it’s the same old thing. Some “crazy winter storm” is always coming our way and everyone freaks out and gets all pumped just to wake up to about a half inch of dust on the streets. This year is getting off to the same old start. Click on the picture above to marvel at the sight of what “6-10 inches of snow” looks like at my house.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I am thankful for even the smallest amount of snow. I love snow. Alot. I just wish they’d say, “Look ya’ll, we’re not gonna get much, but we will at least be able to wake up to a very pretty, half-inch coat of snow on our town.”

Yes, I am almost 30 years old and still complaining about snow like a 2nd grader. Pathetic, really.
