This time last year I was just happy that my plants lived through the late freeze.
And now a year later, I am equally as happy that they not only lived through yet another late freeze but that they are doing really, really well.

I took a bunch of photos at the Jonathan and Lacy Haguewood wedding reception last night. It was a blast.
Check out all of the photos via the Haguewood Wedding Reception Flickr set.
I was out of town for the free tree giveaway on the square Saturday morning. I was pretty bummed when I found out that my trip fell on the same day as the Arbor Day Celebration of Trees. However, some friends of mine picked one up and decided they had no room for it in their yard.
Guess who got a free tree afterall? Thanks to Cathy and Tim for my brand new sawtooth oak. I think I’ll call it ‘Crunkles’.

Big show tonight, ya’ll. I know it’s a Sunday so if that’s a problem, no big deal. However, it’s gonna be a good one so keep that in mind.
We’re (The Good Fear) playing with American Princes and Catfish Haven at the Old Post Office building on the square here in Fayetteville. I believe it’s now called The Urban Table or something.
The American Princes are just about to put out a new record and it is simply incredible. There’s a brand new Artist Profile of them which includes an interview and a streaming new track over at The Fayetteville Flyer so check that out and then get pumped. Then come on out tonight.
Thanks to daylight savings, you’re already gonna have a hard time getting up for work tomorrow. Why not make the best of it?
Will Arnett (Arrested Development) is, too.
I’m terrible at remembering to post our show dates on my blog. This time I will not let myself down. I remembered. Eat it.
This Friday (Feb 22) we’ll be playing at The White Water Tavern in Little Rock at about 10pm. It’s $5 to get in and we’re playing with a great band called Ghost Company.
We’ve got a couple of shows next month in Fayetteville. One’s with American Princes and Catfish Haven. The other’s with Dr. Dog. More information soon.
March=gonna be fun.
Does anyone I know have a PS3 and own this game? Probably not. Damn.

I’ve put up a couple of new Flickr sets.
The first is Camping - Oct 2007 which documents our annual trip to Longpool. Unfortunately, it was also our last trip to Longpool since some jackass (police?) officer kept sneaking up on us and saying something to the effect of “You can’t drink here. It’s illegal and I’ll take you to jail if you don’t stop.” Those weren’t his exact words but that was the overall idea he was trying to convey. To be honest, at the time it sounded more like, “Hey guys. Look at me. I suck. You guys look like you’re having fun. That makes me jealous. I will now ruin your camping trip. Also, I suck.”
The second set is Snowboarding - 2008 which is the fifth snowboarding set and documents the fifth trip I’ve been on in as many years. This year we went to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and it was by far the best trip yet. It snowed 6 inches the first night and 10 the next. Translation: Awesome.
Some friends of ours started a “Brown Bag Wine Club” and last night marked the beginning of what is hopefully an on-going, monthly event.
From the eVite: “The goal is to create a very casual, non-pretentious environment for people to learn a little about wines. We will try to balance giving people an opportunity to go through the “5 S’s” of wine tasting (see, swirl, smell, sip, and spit) or to just chug what is in the glass.”
Last night’s focus was on Champagne/Sparkling wine. We tasted 8 different types and took notes without knowing what we were drinking. I had a feeling that I’d probably end up liking the cheap stuff more than the fancy stuff. I was right. I gave the highest score to the cheapest brand. No surprises there.
