New Scratch is a label owned by my good friend, Bill Krejci. He’s originally from Northwest Arkansas but has been on the road with Lucero for a couple of years now. On the side, he runs New Scratch and only sells music/merchandise from his most favorite bands.
He has recently begun selling Paper Hearts t-shirts and digital downloads of all three releases so if you’ve never heard the original EP from 2001, head on over to New Scratch and pick up a copy along with a t-shirt (or two…or three). They make great gifts…(hint).

I forgot to mention that The Paper Hearts are playing tonight at the Dickson Theater in Fayetteville with Drag The River.
I don’t know when we’re going on but it’s probably gonna be late. I don’t care though, because I’m off all damn day tomorrow. But not because of tonight’s show. It’s because I’m going damn camping. CAMPING! YEEOW!

The great Paul Wardein has struck again. Head over to The Paper Hearts’ photo section for some excellent photos from the show at The Gypsy the other night.
By the way, the show was one of the best we’ve ever had. If you couldn’t make it then you missed an excellent performance by all three bands. Bryce Harrison and TRAT were awesome, The New Tragedies were awesome and all the fans were awesome. Basically, it was awesome. And awesome.

One of my bands, The Paper Hearts is playing this Friday night here in Fayetteville at The Gypsy on Dickson Street.
Also playing are The New Tragedies from Kansas City. Actually, it’s Aaron & Bev Weidner who are originally from here. Aaron co-founded The Paper Hearts with me and wrote a ton of our songs so if you were any sort of a fan of ours at all, you should be entertained thoroughly.
Finally, rounding out the bill are Bryce Harrison and The Rumors Are True who are from here and who also are really good so don’t miss out on the sweetness. Come to the show. Thanks.

My sister was right. “Packed” is not the word to describe the show the other night. Apparently, that was the biggest show The Dickson Theater has ever had. Over 525 people paid to get in. Check out this photo that Bryan Moats took. See more photos at Bryan’s Flickr page.

The Paper Hearts haven’t played a show in a long, long time. As a matter of fact, I think it’s been a little over two years. So we’re making up for it with a Super Show lineup consisting of us, Cory Branan and Lucero.
I haven’t shared the stage with Lucero since I last played guitar for them which was also a couple of years ago so tonight should be a good time. I’m actually a little nervous about the The Dickson Theater being too packed. According to this thread over at the Lucero message board, people are actually flying in from as far away as Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. in order to catch all three bands on the same stage. To me, it’s more of three bands who are good friends getting together and playing a show but I suppose to some people, it’s unheard of to have three of your favorite bands playing together.
I’m pretty sure we’ve all three played together before at some point but Lucero has become a hell of a lot more popular in the last couple of years and thanks to that, we’ve actually sold a lot more CDs from our website than when we were a working band. Plus, Cory has reached a much bigger crowd as well by playing on Letterman and Last Call not too long ago.
Cory starts at 8:45, we’re on at 9:30 and Lucero takes the stage at 10:30pm so come on out if you can.
