Bittersweet Styles: 03/22/07

Work, eBay 1 Comment »

Our weekly batch of items is now available at our store so have a looksy, ya’ll. I normally don’t post about eBay here but that’s not because I don’t want to. It’s because sometimes I’m not too smart. I spend half of my week working our eBay store and then I don’t even post about it on my blog. Weird.

Even if you’re not in the market for women’s vintage clothing, head on over anyway and check out some of the awesome photos that our new camera takes. It’s a Canon Rebel XT and it’s pretty damn sweet.

New Bittersweet Styles Site

The Web, Work, eBay 3 Comments »

I finished the new (very Web 2.0ish) Bittersweet Styles site this evening and it’s now live for the internetters to see.

For nearly a year now, BittersweetStyles.com just re-directed over to the eBay store. But now, it’s gone all official on us both by receiving it’s very own place on the web. Aw, how special.

Head on over and check it out by clicking here or here or here. Or here.

And if you’re looking for some hott ladies fashions, don’t be shy about bidding on some of the goodies we’ve got for sale over there. Everything is always one-of-a-kind so once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Happy Halloween 2006

My desk, your desk.

My deskThe idea for this post was taken from Seth (via werlew.com).

Click the picture for a larger view (new feature here at Crasymaker).

Crappy HP PC for testing, Kleenex, PowerBook G4, 20″ Apple Cinema display, trail map of The Canyons (getting ready for snowboarding ‘07), Lacie Porsche drive, Maxtor drive, 5G iPod, Mighty Mouse, headphones, genuine Herman Miller Aeron chair, trophy with an old-school van on it (don’t ask), marshmallow cheeseburger (in package), Buddha Outlet Awards trophies, couple of plants, nice lighting.

I spend at least 40 hours a week so I’m glad it’s as cool as it is. Our office is brand new and so is all of our furniture. As a matter of fact, I got to help design the place so I’m pretty proud of it, I suppose.

What does your desk look like?

Vote Darling Desserts 2006!

Fayetteville/NWA, Friends/Family, Work 1 Comment »

Best of NWA 2006Citiscapes Magazine will soon be publishing their annual Best of Northwest Arkansas awards and there is a new category this year: Best Gourmet Dessert.

It just so happens that I know the owner of the best gourmet desserts company in Northwest Arkansas. What luck! If you aren’t familiar with Darling Desserts, then just take my word on it and head over to BestofNWAR.com to cast your vote. While you’re there, you can also vote for the seemingly hundreds of other categories but it’s not necessary to vote for all of ‘em.

I recently designed the Darling Desserts logo so if for no other reason just vote because you like me.

Ya’ll do like me, right?

I got shit on…for real.

My eye, Work 3 Comments »

The picture to the left is of a pipe that is almost directly above my desk at work. I was across the room talking to someone when I hear a guy yelling at me to get to my desk. I got over there and found tons of sewage pouring out of the ceiling around that pipe all over my work area. The computers were spared but I had to trade my file cabinets and all my papers had to be trashed. Guess what? It stinks, too. Imagine that.

In eye-related news, my face is healed up but there’s still no change in my vision. My eye is still completely dilated and the doctor officially verified the possibility of it never returning to normal. Awesome!

Needless to say, it hasn’t been a very good month for me. Hopefully, April showers will actually bring some May flowers this year.

New Office

Work 5 Comments »

The reason I haven’t updated in so long is because I have been getting my ass kicked at work. But not my normal interactive design work. I’ve been helping pick out, order, design and even set up our new office.

For those of you in the Fayetteville area, you might have noticed a big glass building next door to the Inn at the Mill in Johnson while driving down I-540. We’re on the third floor and it’s seriously awesome.

We chose Herman Miller Resolve for the furniture and we couldn’t be happier with how it has turned out. Words can’t really describe it so I’ll let these pictures do the talking.

OS X Server: Help!

Tech, Work 3 Comments »

Anybody know anything about OS X Server? I know OS X inside and out so I thought OS X Server would be fairly easy for me to figure out. Getting our Mac users connected has been a breeze (duh) but getting our Windows users connected has been a disaster (not surprised). With “Allow guest access” turned on, the Windows clients can easily connect but without it, they can’t even see the Xserve (imagine that). Help.

UPDATE: Problems solved. Sleeping at night can now resume.
