My name is Todd Gill and I am a graphic/interactive designer living in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I love my home town and state to such an extent that some might consider it a little weird. I play music, write for various online sources and live in a small house with my wife Sarah, Sadie Pup and our kitten, Cindy Crawford.

Company: Heartshape Records
Work: Design

The Paper Hearts was a band I founded and was fortunate to be received very, very well. We broke up back in 2003 but we made a ton of friends both here at home and on the road. Besides numerous website redesigns, flyers, posters, CD covers and tons of other merchandising items, this logo is the one that really hits home with me. If you get a chance, head over to thepaperhears.com/music and have a listen to some of the first music I ever had a hand in creating.

The Fayetteville Flyer is our city's answer to an online alt-weekly. It was a badly-needed addition to our community and I am really proud to have created something that I am very passionate about. If you live in the area, make sure you bookmark that sonofagun. Heck, stay glued to it if you can.

Here's a secret for anyone who owns a frozen beverage company and is in need of a logo but doesn't want to spend a million bucks getting one: Margarita's are delicious. That's it. In other words, liquor is as good as money in my book. Especially when it's frozen, mixed and served up on a hot summer's day.

Talk about a fun project! I somehow lucked out and got to design an entire line of racing apparel for the local Tyson Foods Inc.-sponsored cycling team. I can't tell you how satisfying it was to concept, create and then finally see the team racing in their brand new jerseys. Awesome? Yes.
Joe Martin Stage Race - poster/cards

Joe Martin Stage Race - poster/cards

Client: Joe Martin Stage Race
Company: All Sports Productions, Inc.
Work: Design
The Joe Martin Stage Race originally began as the Fayetteville Spring Classic in 1978. Joe Martin, a local creative director who touched many lives, served as the race director until 1988 when he was stricken with cancer. Upon his death in 1989, the race was renamed in his honor. I was proud to have been able to design the 30th annual race poster and postcards.

My wife has a pretty cool hobby going. She likes to buy vintage clothing and put together some of the coolest outfits. After she's tired of them, she sells 'em on eBay and uses the cash to buy more. Her knack for putting this-with-that and that-with-this is mighty impressive. In fact, some folks often e-mail her and ask her which designer she uses. I'm sure they're pretty confused when she answers "Umm...JCPenney circa 1972?"

Here's a logo and website I designed for a local seafood restaurant. They've got some dang good food over there. I only designed this site, though. No coding here. It was nice to take a break from programming and just paint a picture for once.

One look at my stepfather Ed Pennebaker's glassblowing skills and you'll be freaked the heck out. No kidding. He is the single most talented individual I have ever met. From a small, beautifully-crafted perfume bottle to a massive, 720-piece chandelier, Ed takes no shortcuts in his work and that is why I am proud to have designed his latest website showcasing his unmatched talents.

Eric Hobbs does residential remodeling, carpentry, decks, porches, custom tile and can even shell out some impressive practical and artistic welding when the need presents itself. He's one of the most mechanically-creative individuals I've ever met. However, I'm not sure he knows how to even turn on a computer, let alone check his e-mail to see this logo I designed for him. I take that back. I'm pretty sure he saw it and didn't like it. No hard feelings. I'm still putting it up here, though.

OK, so my friend Laura Hobbs is easily the best baker in the area. When she asked me for a logo and website, all I wanted in return was a batch of some of her delicious chocolate dipped coconut macaroons. Yes, they're that good. Unfortunately, she no longer bakes for profit so her website is gone. But her macaroons still pop up from time to time...

I had the privilege of playing guitar for and touring with this band for about a year. These guys are great. Over the course of that time, I designed a number of things for them such as a website and a handful of t-shirts. This one is still in use.
Clunk Records - shirt

Clunk Records - shirt

Client: Clunk Records
Work: Design
For 10 years, Clunk Records was the best little record shop in Fayetteville. Run by local badass Chris Selby, this place had all the best music you couldn't find at the major music stores. Besides providing our town with tons of great music, he also ran a venue called Clunk Music Hall. Ever since the store and music hall closed down, things just haven't been the same here. This shirt was designed as a tribute to the best thing that ever happened musically to our corner of the state.

This is the band I am currently playing with. I've done quite a few things for us such as a t-shirt designs, cd covers, posters, buttons, etc. These two designs are a couple of my favorites. I even used the one on the right on our website.

I developed a logo for my local softball team to be used on our jerseys. I also played on another team that year but in the very first game, I got hit in the eye with the ball and was out for the season. Too bad, because I liked this jersey and wish I could've worn it more while actually playing.

I developed some logos for a local decking company a while back. There were a few to choose from but this was my favorite. Unfortunately, the client ended up not using any of them. Oh well.
